Understanding Angels: Who They Are and How They Guide Us
Angels have appeared in spiritual traditions across the world for thousands of years. They serve as divine messengers and protectors, offering comfort, clarity, and guidance when we need it most. Yet for many people, angels feel mysterious or distant. What are angels really? How do they communicate with us? And how can we learn to recognize when they are near?
Angels exist in what spiritual teachings call the upper realm, a high vibrational plane where light, truth, and unconditional love are the source of all action. Archangels, such as Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, and Uriel, take on even more significant responsibilities, offering protection and wisdom to individuals who call upon them.
How Angels Communicate With Us
Angel communication is often subtle. Rather than dramatic appearances with wings and trumpets, angels frequently work through:
Inner knowing or intuitive messages

Sudden insight or clarity
A feeling of comfort or presence in difficult moments

A Personal Example of Angelic Protection
My first angel encounter happened when I was fifteen, after a severe car accident that left me with multiple injuries and a long recovery. While resting one night, I was awakened by a brilliant light and a powerful voice instructing me to open my eyes. Fear kept me still, and as the light faded, the voice delivered a message:
“Come out of the pit.”
I did not understand what it meant at the time, and those I asked could not explain it. Years later, during advanced spiritual training, I connected with Archangel Uriel and learned that he had been the one who visited me. The “pit” symbolized a life lived without spiritual awareness. Once I embraced and developed my gifts, I finally understood that Uriel had been guiding me toward a higher vibration and deeper purpose.
This experience is not about my story alone; it demonstrates how angels work. They step in when our path shifts. They nudge us forward when we are ready to grow. Their messages are always rooted in light.
