Understanding Mediumship and the Path to Spiritual Connection

When I first stepped into my spiritual journey, the word “medium” appeared everywhere. I did not fully understand what it meant. The simplest way to think about a medium is as an intermediary, someone who stands between two worlds. In this case, the medium bridges the physical and spiritual realms, allowing communication with spirit guides, loved ones, angels, or other higher-vibrational beings.

Some mediums work through ancestral spirits. Others connect with angels or particular guides. In my case, it was not until I was nearly finished with my Akashic Records training that my teacher realized I had not properly trained in mediumship, which is essential for Akashic work. A Record Reader must serve as the intermediary between the soul and the designated Record Keeper.

Mediums receive information through different intuitive channels. Clairvoyance shows visions or images. Clairaudience brings messages through sound or inner hearing. Clairsentience delivers information through feeling. For me, messages first come as a sensation or intuitive knowing, which I then translate into written messages through automatic writing. I prefer to write during sessions because it allows me to send clients a detailed recap and gives me a tool to review and receive additional insight afterward.

There are many forms of mediumship, and the method used influences the type of information received. Tarot, for example, is a divination tool that offers glimpses into probable futures, though I always emphasized to clients that tarot shows only a short window. In the Akashic Records, the future is not fixed. I do not predict outcomes. Instead, I look at the soul contract and how well the soul is progressing. Often, I am guided to review recent past lives to understand patterns that continue into the present experience.

Many people wonder if they have the gift of mediumship. I used to fear mediumship, believing it would expose me to dark energies. That fear came from misunderstanding. Proper training and shielding are essential. Mediumship requires boundaries: knowing when to open spiritually and when to close, knowing who you are communicating with, and maintaining control of the interaction. Mediumship is not passive; it is an active practice in discernment and spiritual responsibility.

If you feel called to explore mediumship, reach out to a trusted teacher and learn with guidance. We are each born with spiritual gifts, and part of our soul contract is to learn what they are and use them in service to our highest good and the good of the universe. Mediumship is not always easy to learn, but the ability to communicate with the other side and bring healing, clarity, and comfort is a profound gift.

If you are curious about mediumship or feel drawn to develop your intuitive abilities, I invite you to contact me. Together, we can explore whether this path is part of your soul’s calling.
