When Angels Visit: Encounters with Archangels and Messages of Light

Many people ask how I first found spirituality. For me, it was not a single event but a gradual unfolding, shaped by signs and experiences that revealed themselves over time. As this month focuses on dreams, I want to share one of my most significant and transformative encounters.

A Life-Altering Experience

At age fifteen, I survived a devastating car accident that broke my neck and pelvis. Doctors predicted lifelong disability, and I was forced to give up sports and physical activities. While recovering at home, I began sleeping on my great-grandmother’s iron bed with a feather mattress.

One night, while under the effects of pain medication, I fell into a deep sleep. Suddenly, an overwhelming light filled my vision, so intense that I could not open my eyes. A commanding voice instructed me to “open your eyes.” Fearful, I resisted. The command repeated, and finally, as the light faded, the voice delivered one final message: “Come out of the pit.”

Searching for Meaning

For years, I wrestled with the meaning of this message. Ministers and religious leaders I spoke with could not provide clarity. Within Christianity, the word “pit” is often associated with hell, but this interpretation felt incomplete. I continued my Catholic devotion, yet the answers I sought remained elusive.

The Presence of Archangel Uriel

Years later, during my work with the Medicine Wheel, I entered a meditative state similar to a shamanic journey and called upon my archangel. It was then that Uriel appeared.

In this sacred moment, Uriel confirmed that he had been the presence who visited me during my accident, shining the light and delivering the message. When I asked whether “Come out of the pit” was a call to embrace true spirituality, Uriel affirmed that understanding.

Since that time, Uriel has remained a constant guide. I keep a medal of him close and invoke his presence for support and clarity. Known as the Archangel of Light, Prophecy, and Insight, Uriel is a powerful yet accessible guide, often regarded as an agent of transformation.

How Angels Communicate
